Dental Implants
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root made of titanium, the same material used for knee and hip replacement. This functions to support a crown (also known as a cap) or to support a denture or partial denture.
- Single Teeth
- Multiple Teeth
- Full Arch All on Four
- Bone grafting: When additional bone is necessary to place an implant, this is done by surgical bone grafting.
- Socket Preservation: Bone grafting done at the time of tooth removal to prevent tissue collapse and to have adequate bone to place an implant.

LANAP-Laser treatment for periodontal disease
LANAP stands for Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure. It is a laser-based treatment for periodontal (gum) disease that is considered minimally invasive compared to traditional periodontal surgery. See Lanap.com for comprehensive information.
What is LANAP?
A FDA-cleared laser treatment that targets and removes only diseased gum tissue from around the tooth roots, while leaving healthy gum tissue intact. The laser also helps form a stable blood clot to allow the body’s natural healing process to occur, enabling the gums to reattach to the tooth root surfaces. LANAP aims to regenerate the attachment between the tooth and gums without requiring scalpel or suture incisions.
It utilizes a specific dental laser to selectively remove diseased tissue and provide an environment conducive to regeneration of bone and periodontal attachment around the natural tooth roots. LANAP offers a less invasive, less painful alternative to conventional osseous periodontal surgery for many patients.
Why would you want to consider LANAP to treat gum disease?
There are several potential benefits that may lead a patient to want to use LANAP over traditional periodontal surgery:
- Faster Healing – By avoiding large incisions and sutures, the healing process is generally faster with LANAP. Patients can sometimes resume normal activities more quickly.
- Less Invasive – LANAP is considered minimally invasive compared to conventional gum surgery that requires cutting the gums open. This often allows for less discomfort, swelling, and bleeding during and after the procedure.
- Regeneration of Tissues – The laser interacts with the tissues in a way that is intended to stimulate regeneration of bone and periodontal attachments around the tooth roots.
- Gum Preservation – Healthy gum tissue is selectively left intact during LANAP, rather than cutting away substantial amounts of gum like in traditional surgery.
- Reduced Gum Recession – Since more healthy gum tissue can be retained, patients may experience less gingival recession after LANAP compared to surgery.
- Less Sensitivity – By avoiding large incisions into gum tissue, teeth often experience reduced temperature and cold sensitivity after LANAP .
So in summary, the minimally invasive nature, faster healing, regenerative effects, and gum preservation are major factors that can make LANAP appealing to patients needing periodontal treatment. Contact Us to schedule your procedure today!
